Abstract

This research was motivated by the low level of student questioning activity, with the aim of the research being to increase student questioning activity. The research was carried out at Nyalian 3 State Elementary School (SD) for the 2020/2021 academic year, with a total of 11 people. Meanwhile, the object of the research is increasing questioning activities through learning actions using a scientific approach to short message text techniques (TPS). The research follows the flow of classroom action research with two cycles, each cycle including planning, action, observation and evaluation, and reflection. The data collection technique uses observation, and the data collection instrument uses an observation format regarding the number and types of student questions. The data analysis method uses univariant descriptive statistics with the formula n =score obtained x 100, and to draw conclusions descriptive methods are used maximum score qualitative. The indicator of success is the minimum average value of asking activities70.00 with a minimum completion of 85%. The results of the research show that the questioning activity of class IV students in the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic year at SD Negeri 3 Nyalian can be improved through scientific learning of TPS techniques, with the average score achieved in cycle I being 63.47 and completeness being 70.27%, increasing in cycle II to average 79.32 and completeness 97.29%
