PENERAPAN MODEL INKUIRI PADA MATA PELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA HINDU DAN BUDI PEKERTI DALAM MENUMBUHKAN CRITICAL THINKING PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X DI SMA NEGERI 1 SELAT KARANGASEM

Abstract

Hindu Religious Education and Ethics at the high school level has an important role in shaping the character and mindset of students who are critical, reflective, and religious. However, the learning process is often still teacher-centered and has not fully developed students' critical thinking skills. To answer these challenges, this research was conducted with the general objective of fostering the critical thinking skills of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Selat Karangasem through the application of an inquiry model. In particular, this study aims to describe the application of the inquiry model, identify obstacles and solutions in its implementation, and find out its impact on the development of students' critical thinking in learning Hindu Religious Education and Ethics, especially in the material on Hindu Religious Patterns in the World. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with subject teachers and class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Selat Karangasem. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out by measures of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The research instruments in the form of interview guidelines, observation sheets, and field notes were prepared based on critical thinking indicators and the basic principles of the inquiry model. The results of the study show that the application of the inquiry model has been carried out systematically by referring to learning tools such as modules. This model encourages learners to be more active, independent, and reflective in learning. Obstacles in implementation such as time constraints, variations in student characters, and teacher readiness can be overcome with appropriate classroom management strategies and learning media. Overall, the inquiry model has a positive impact on fostering students' critical thinking and is worthy of continued application in the learning of Hindu Religious Education and Ethics.
