Abstract

The use of social media should still pay attention to ethical elements so as not to be detrimental to the injured party and lead to actions that are considered unlawful. In communicating, a person must have ethics and a way of conveying information or ideas that will be conveyed by both the communicator and the communicator so that there are no obstacles in communication. The purpose of this study is to provide knowledge and insight into the Use of Social Media on Changes in Communication Patterns of the Alpha Generation in Elementary School Students 2 Tamanbali. The formulation of the problem in this study is (1) How is the communication pattern of the Alpha Generation in Elementary School students 2 Tamanbali, (2) What are the implications of Social Media on Changes in Communication Patterns of the Alpha Generation Case Study of Elementary School Students 2 Tamanbali? and (3) The Impact of Psychological Changes in Communication Patterns of the Alpha Generation in Elementary School Students 2 Tamanbali?.

This study uses a qualitative method approach. The location of the study is at Tamanbali 2 Elementary School, Bangli Regency. The type of research applied is qualitative. Data sources consist of two types, namely primary data and secondary data. Determination of informants is done purposively. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The presentation of the analysis results is carried out using formal techniques, namely describing, analyzing, and interpreting data in the form of descriptive narratives without using statistical methods.

The final results of this study are (1) Changes in communication patterns at Tamanbali 2 Elementary School reflect the transformation in the world of education that is increasingly connected to technology and more active involvement from parents and students. Primary communication patterns in elementary school students involve various forms of communication, both verbal and non-verbal, which are very important to support their social, emotional, and academic development. It is important for schools to balance direct and indirect communication in order to achieve optimal communication goals. (2) Implications of Social Media on Changes in Communication Patterns of Generation Alpha in Taman Bali 2 Elementary School Students where Social Media has become an integral part of the lives of Generation Alpha, including among elementary school students. This generation grew up in the digital era. Changes in communication patterns due to the development of digital technology and social media not only have an impact on the way elementary school students interact, but also have quite significant psychological implications. (3) The Impact of Psychological Changes in the Communication Patterns of Generation Alpha on Elementary School Students at Tamanbali 2 State Elementary School, where the shift in attention and interaction of elementary school students is from direct social relationships (face to face) to virtual or digital relationships, especially through social media, online games, and messaging applications. The shift in social relationships towards digital communication in elementary school students has an impact on the decline in the quality of personal relationships, reduced social skills, and increased risk of loneliness and emotional disconnection.
