Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Policy
RIDE: Journal of Cultural Tourism and Religious Studies recognizes the potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in supporting academic research and scholarly communication. Authors may use these technologies as supportive tools in the preparation of manuscripts, provided that their use is conducted responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with academic integrity and publication ethics.
The use of generative AI tools must not replace the authors' intellectual contributions, critical thinking, research expertise, or independent academic judgment. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, and integrity of all content submitted for publication, including any material generated or assisted by AI tools.
Authors who use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies to generate, develop, translate, substantially revise, or analyze manuscript content must disclose such use in a separate declaration within the manuscript. The declaration should identify the AI tool used and explain its specific purpose and contribution to the research or manuscript preparation process.
Generative AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors, as authorship requires human accountability and responsibility for the published work. Authors are also required to verify all AI-assisted content, including factual information, interpretations, citations, and references, to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
The use of AI tools to fabricate or manipulate research data, findings, references, interview responses, or other research evidence is strictly prohibited. AI-generated content must not be presented as authentic research findings or as evidence obtained directly from participants or field observations.
Basic spelling, grammar, and punctuation checking that does not substantially alter the intellectual content of the manuscript does not require a separate declaration.
By submitting a manuscript to RIDE, authors acknowledge their responsibility to disclose the use of generative AI tools honestly and to ensure that all submitted work complies with the journal's publication ethics and academic integrity standards.
