Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the way individuals, particularly adolescents, access educational and wellness activities. Online yoga learning has become increasingly popular due to its flexibility and accessibility. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of synchronous communication in online yoga learning among adolescents at Harmony Yoga Community. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The study involved 25 participants aged 13–24 years. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments and questionnaires measuring learning comprehension, engagement, and satisfaction. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests, Spearman correlation analysis, and effect size calculations. The findings revealed significant improvements across all measured variables following the implementation of synchronous communication. Mean comprehension scores increased from 63.2 to 79.6, engagement scores increased from 61.8 to 83.4, and satisfaction scores increased from 66.5 to 86.2. Paired sample t-test results indicated statistically significant differences between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). The calculated effect size (Cohen's d = 0.92) indicated a large practical effect. Furthermore, Spearman correlation analysis showed positive relationships between the quality of synchronous communication and learning outcomes. These results highlight the importance of real-time interaction in fostering active participation and enhancing the online learning experience. The findings also provide empirical support for the integration of synchronous communication strategies in virtual yoga education programs for adolescents. These findings suggest that the use of synchronous communication was associated with improved comprehension, engagement, and satisfaction in online yoga learning among adolescents
