Conflict of Interest Policy

Anubhava: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi Hindu is committed to maintaining academic integrity, objectivity, transparency, and fairness throughout the scholarly publishing process. All authors, reviewers, editors, and other parties involved in publication are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that may influence their professional judgment or decisions.

1. Definition of Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest occurs when personal, financial, professional, academic, institutional, or other relationships may influence, or reasonably appear to influence, the objectivity of research, peer review, editorial decisions, or publication outcomes.

Conflicts of interest may include financial support, employment, consultancy, personal relationships, institutional affiliations, academic collaboration, professional competition, or other interests related to the submitted manuscript.

2. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest when submitting a manuscript. They must also disclose relevant research funding and explain the role of funding organizations in the research design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and manuscript preparation, where applicable.

If no conflicts of interest exist, authors should include the following statement:

“The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.”

If a conflict exists, authors must provide a clear explanation so that the editorial team can assess and manage the situation appropriately.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality in evaluating a manuscript. Reviewers should decline an assignment when personal, professional, institutional, financial, or collaborative relationships could compromise their independence.

Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and provide objective, evidence-based assessments.

4. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and refrain from handling manuscripts when their impartiality may be compromised. In such cases, the manuscript must be assigned to an independent editor who can make editorial decisions objectively.

Editorial decisions must be based on scholarly quality, originality, relevance to the journal's scope, methodological rigor, and the results of the peer-review process.

5. Management of Conflicts of Interest

The editorial team evaluates disclosed conflicts of interest and determines appropriate measures to protect the integrity of the publication process. These measures may include reassignment of reviewers or editors, additional review, requests for clarification, or other appropriate editorial actions.

Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in rejection of a manuscript or further action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

6. Transparency and Accountability

Anubhava: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi Hindu is committed to handling conflicts of interest transparently and consistently. This policy applies throughout the submission, peer-review, editorial decision-making, and post-publication processes, where relevant.

The journal's editorial team is responsible for implementing and periodically reviewing this policy to support ethical and responsible scholarly publishing.
