Abstract

This study aims to dissect the relationship between the Dynamics of the Urban Space Design Process (X1) and the Effectiveness of Sustainable Tourism Infrastructure Development (X2) through the lens of linguistics, literature, and Sundanese religious cosmology in Bandung. An explanatory sequential Mixed Methods approach was used by distributing questionnaires to 400 respondents in Braga, Cihapit, Dago, and Cilaki, followed by in-depth interviews based on literary discourse analysis. Statistical data processing using SPSS showed that the correlation between X1 and welfare recovery (Y) had a positive influence with a determination coefficient of $R^2 = 0.082$ and significance $p = 0.087$. Qualitatively, spatial planning that ignores local language toponymy and the philosophy of Tri Tangtu di Buana triggers social resistance. Modern urban design often erases the traces of oral literature and the religious memory of communal societies. This study found that successful tourism infrastructure is not only determined by the ergonomics of asphalt and concrete but by the spatial layout's ability to maintain the dialectic of silih asih, silih asah, silih asuh. The integration of the Sundanese Linguistic Landscape and inclusive design is the main key to the resilience of tourism MSMEs. Therefore, urban revitalization must restore the spiritual soul of the area to avoid cultural uprooting.
