Geguritan Pangawin Bhatara Ring Taman (GPBRT) is a literary work in the form of geguritan born in Griya Taman Tanjung and Griya Taman Sari Budhakeling, Karangasem. This literary work is a literary work that contains Mahayana Buddhist teachings in Bali (Buddha Tattwa). This study aims to reveal the signs of Buddhist teachings in the GPBRT text using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory, namely denotation and connotation. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. The data collection stage was carried out by collecting GPBRT text data in Bebandem Village, Karangasem. The data collection process began with the translation method from Balinese script to Latin script and translation from Old Javanese, Middle Javanese, and Balinese to Indonesian. The GPBRT text in translation was carried out through a literal and idiomatic translation process, followed by using listening methods and recording techniques. The data analysis method and technique used was the analytical descriptive method. The method and technique for presenting the results of the data analysis used was the informal deductive-inductive method. The results of the data analysis show that through heuristic and hermeneutic reading of the GPBRT text, several topics were found and the meaning of signs related to the teachings of Buddha Tattwa was revealed, namely Sang Hyang Parama Jina, Parama Guhya (the highest secret), Parama Marga (the path), Meitri (lovingkindness), and Sila Paramita (perfect action). The disclosure of signs in the GPBRT text is intended to disseminate that there are geguritan literary works that contain the teachings of Buddha Tattwa, Buddhist texts that are not often found in literary works, especially geguritan, which can be used as a source of learning Buddhist teachings.
