Abstract

 

Balinese is one of the regional languages ​​in Indonesia used by the Balinese people in their daily lives. Therefore, Balinese language lessons are compulsory subjects at all levels of education in Bali as part of the local content. The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model is considered effective to use, especially in the Balinese language sor singgih material, because it is able to link the material to real situations faced by students. This study examines three things: (1) how is the application of the CTL model in sor singgih Balinese language learning in the Balinese language sor singgih material in class X SMA Dharma Praja Denpasar? (2) what obstacles were found and what efforts were made in implementing the CTL learning model? (3) what is the impact of implementing the CTL learning model on the sor singgih Balinese language subject for class X? This study uses behaviorism and constructivism theories, with data obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The type of data used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study indicate that learning with the CTL model is carried out through the opening, core, and closing stages of the lesson. The main obstacles include the difficulty of teachers in building meaningful learning and a culture of reflection, as well as the lack of use of Balinese in students' lives. The solutions implemented include creating interactive and inclusive learning, and encouraging students to be more active in using Balinese. The impact is that teachers become more creative, students are more critical and motivated, and their Balinese language skills improve significantly.
