Abstract

This study presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on automatic lighting systems based on motion sensors integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Conventional lighting systems that operate continuously without considering user presence contribute significantly to energy waste. Motion sensor-based systems, particularly using Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors, offer an efficient solution by detecting human presence through infrared radiation. The integration of IoT enables real-time monitoring and control via cloud platforms and mobile applications, enhancing system flexibility and efficiency. This review aims to identify commonly used system architectures and components, evaluate the potential for energy savings, and analyze challenges in implementation. The results indicate that IoT-based automatic lighting systems can significantly reduce energy consumption, especially in residential, office, and public environments, although challenges such as sensor accuracy, network reliability, and system scalability remain important considerations for future development.
