The source of the teachings of Yoga is not only found in the Yoga Sutra Patanjali and classical Hindu literature, but is also spread throughout the region affected by the teachings of Hinduism by using local cultural values and having the characteristics of theory and practice, one of which is in the archipelago, especially in Java. and Bali. Yoga teachings based on Old Javanese texts and the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali are an integrated and systematic practice in achieving success and self-enlightenment. Fundamental to achieving success and self-enlightenment in Yoga is largely determined by the practice of Abhyāsa and Vairāgya. Abhyāsa is continuous practice and Vairāgya is renunciation or detachment, Abhyāsa and Vairāgya are the two core principles on which the entire system of Yoga is based. It is through the implementation of these two that other practices develop and enable self-realization to be achieved. This is in accordance with the problems of the current era of globalization which are in line with advances in technology and knowledge that require everyone to compete tightly in various aspects of life. The era of globalization has characteristics such as prioritizing logic and has materialistic, hedonistic, secularistic, pragmatic, and transactional characteristics. This creates new challenges and problems in society. Therefore, the teachings of Yoga are needed as a basic reference for realizing life goals and solving problems and using them for material and spiritual well-being.
