Abstract

Ethical issues among students, such as a lack of respect for teachers, weak self-control, and the prevalence of bullying, indicate that education has not yet fully succeeded in shaping students’ character holistically. This article aims to examine the ethical teachings contained in Lontar Putra Sesana, identify ethical values relevant to student character formation in schools, and analyze their relevance in addressing unethical behavior, including bullying. This study employs a qualitative approach using philosophical-normative research combined with content analysis. The findings reveal that Lontar Putra Sesana emphasizes ethical values such as devotion to parents and teachers, self-control, propriety in speech and behavior, moral responsibility, and social awareness. These values are highly relevant to the goals of character education in schools and align with the principles of Tri Kaya Parisudha. The teachings of Putra Sesana are also relevant as an ethical foundation for preventing bullying through the cultivation of students’ inner awareness and self-discipline.
