Abstract

The construction of Hindus in Bali is built on the foundation of Shiva Siddhanta's teachings, and Tantra which in its implementation is packaged in a magical nuance. Shiva Siddhanta emphasizes efforts to evoke the spirit of "self-purity" (siddhi), in order to achieve the Highest Reality (Shiva) in the "kalepasan" (Moksa) spectrum. Meanwhile, the element of Tantra (Tantrayana) as inner power prioritizes the generation of Sakti energy. These Tantric teachings later colored the development of Hinduism, which ultimately shaped the character of Hindus as a socio-magical-religious society. Consequently, in the practice of religious life, there is a marginalization of religious characteristics (religiosity/spirituality) to become more towards the formation of a magical character which is stronger in encouraging the appearance of human souls with “super egos” who behave deviantly. This article wants to reveal that, there has been a shift and even a deviation in the aim of building Hindus which is expected to move towards the formation of the daiwi sampad character - divinity, but in reality it tends to lead to asuri sampad behavior - gigantic.
