Abstract

his research aims to develop a Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model for the Hindu Religious Education and Ethics subject at SMK Negeri 2 Mataram, focusing on the topic of Yadnya Values in the Mahabharata Stories. The PjBL model is implemented to enhance learning motivation, student participation, and learning outcomes by providing direct experiences relevant to Hindu religious activities aligned with local wisdom.

This study employs a qualitative approach with data collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the application of PjBL facilitates more meaningful learning, actively engages students in the learning process, and shifts the paradigm from teacher-centered to student-centered learning.

The findings indicate that students better comprehend the material through real activities, such as Hindu religious rituals and art, designed within the learning projects. The study also highlights both technical and non-technical challenges in implementing PjBL, including the limitations of learning media, which previously relied solely on textbooks and modules.

Systematically and contextually integrated PjBL implementation contributes significantly to the development of students' critical thinking, creativity, and reflective attitudes. Thus, PjBL proves to be an effective and innovative approach in teaching Hindu Religious Education, particularly on the topic of Yadnya Values in the Mahabharata Stories.
