PERAN GURU DALAM UPAYA MEMBANGUN KETERAMPILAN KOMUNIKASI PESERTA DIDIK PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the educational landscape around the world, forcing education to shift to distance learning methods. In this situation, the teacher plays a very important role in building students' communication skills. Effective communication skills are key in ensuring students stay connected and succeed in distance learning. The purpose of this study was to explore and analyze relevant information regarding the role of the teacher in an effort to build students' communication skills during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses the literature study method, which involves collecting and analyzing documents, journals, scientific articles, and other sources related to the topic. The data obtained was then analyzed in a more in-depth descriptive manner regarding the teacher's role in distance teaching situations during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the study show that the teacher's role is very important in developing students' communication skills during online learning. Teachers can use a variety of effective strategies and approaches, such as an active and responsive approach, the use of multimedia and digital communication tools, collaborative methods, and the use of information and communication technology. Teachers also serve as good role models in communication, providing constructive feedback, and creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The implications of this research suggest the need for continuous support, appropriate training, and improvement of teachers' communication skills in facing the challenges of distance learning. It is hoped that the results of this research can provide practical insights and guidance for teachers, educational institutions, and stakeholders in improving student communication learning in the ongoing era of distance learning.
