Abstract

Obat tradisional merupakan warisan budaya yang banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat Indonesia baik untuk pencegahan maupun pengobatan penyakit. Di Tegal Desa Kerta, Kota Denpasar, 84% warga yang positif COVID-19 memilih menggunakan obat tradisional saat menjalani isolasi mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman individu dalam melakukan pengobatan sendiri dengan obat tradisional selama isolasi, meliputi jenis obat tradisional yang digunakan, metode penyiapan dan pengolahan, pola penggunaan, manfaat yang dirasakan, efek samping, dan sumber informasi. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini menggunakan purposive sampling dan melibatkan wawancara mendalam dengan lima informan. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa pengobatan tradisional terutama digunakan untuk meringankan gejala COVID-19 yang ringan dan untuk meningkatkan kekebalan tubuh. Jenis obat yang digunakan sebagian besar adalah obat herbal yang diracik sendiri. Tidak ada efek samping yang dilaporkan, dan gejala berkurang. Namun, pemilihan bahan, waktu, dan dosis didasarkan pada pengetahuan generasi. Penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya edukasi publik tentang jenis obat tradisional, bahan herbal yang digunakan, dan penyiapannya yang tepat. Selain itu, perlu dilakukan edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang pemilihan obat tradisional yang dikemas dengan aman.
