Globalization affects the shift of local culture which is the identity of a community group. This has been proven by the existence of Balinese language, which is experiencing challenges of degradation from time to time. Based on these problems, PC KMHDI Denpasar tried to implement the KMHDI’s Rumah Daya Program as a forum for grounding Balinese language and preserving local culture at SD Saraswati 6 Denpasar. Although it has been implemented, there is no concrete explanation regarding the success of the KMHDI’s Rumah Daya program implementation. Therefore, the purpose of this research is presented to analyze and answer three formulations of program problems, which are related to the urgency, essence, and implications of the program on the earthing of Balinese Language in SD Saraswati 6 Denpasar. In terms of methods, this research uses descriptive qualitative data with a naturalistic-based approach. Data sources came from primary and secondary sources. Primary data were obtained through observation of activities and interviews with research subjects, namely teachers and students, and secondary data were obtained through literature studies and documentation as reinforcement. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman approach. The results showed that KMHDI's Rumah Daya program is able to be the answer to ground the Balinese language in the school environment interactively. In conclusion, this program is able to provide positive implications, both as an interactive learning space, a space for preserving the nation's culture, and a space for learning while playing that is useful
I Dewa Gede Darma Permana, Ida Ayu Ade Sintya Pramita, Ni Putu Febbyana Maharani

reflects the social and spiritual realities of contemporary Balinese society. This study aims to reveal the values of Hindu religious language and literature education contained within the story through content analysis and semiotic approaches. The results show that the narrative highlights deviations from dharma values, particularly within family life, as well as the karmic consequences of deviant behaviors such as gambling addiction through cockfighting. The principles of dharma, karma phala, and mokṣa are strongly reflected in the protagonist’s inner journey. Symbolic analysis of story elements, such as the rotten cassava and children's tears, enriches the spiritual meaning of the narrative. This study emphasizes that regional literary works like Gede Ombak Gede Angin have great potential as media for character education based on Hindu teachings. The findings encourage the use of local literature in fostering moral education for the younger generation amidst the challenges of globalization
Ni Putu Besanda Dewik, Ni Luh PT. https://ojs.uhnsugriwa.ac.id/index.php/DS/article/view/4198

The existence of formal educational institutions such as senior high schools (SMA) and vocational schools (SMK) in Bali is expected to serve as a means of preserving the Balinese language. However, recent educational regulations have integrated Balinese language learning with cultural arts subjects, resulting in Balinese no longer being a standalone subject in high schools. This issue has motivated the culinary program at SMK Negeri 1 Tampaksiring to explore the Balinese language more deeply through internal innovation aimed at language conservation. Therefore, this study aims to analyze Balinese language instruction within the local content curriculum of the culinary expertise concentration at SMK Negeri 1 Tampaksiring.

This research is based on primary data (interviews) and secondary data (literature studies). The data were collected through interviews, literature reviews, and document analysis, and interpreted using learning theory and functional theory. The results were then presented descriptively.

The findings reveal three main points: First, the Balinese language instruction in the culinary department at SMK Negeri 1 Tampaksiring aims to counteract the extinction of Balinese amidst the dominance of foreign languages in Bali, to preserve local Balinese-language communication, to honor the efforts of Balinese language preservation, to support government consistency in maintaining the language, and to promote Balinese at national and international levels. Second, the challenges in Balinese language instruction in the culinary department include a shortage of qualified Balinese language teachers, the persistence of conventional teaching methods, limited learning resources such as lontar manuscripts and prukpak, and students' apathy due to the perceived lack of commercial value of the language. These challenges have been addressed through teacher competency development and the provision of physical learning materials like prukpak and ental leaves. Third, the integration of Balinese language learning into the culinary program influences students in disseminating modern culinary innovations to local communities and helps foster a generation of Balinese youth committed to the preservation of their language.
I Pande Made Muliawan, I Gede Suwantana, I Made Wiradnyana

https://ojs.uhnsugriwa.ac.id/index.php/DS/article/view/4711

Oral literature is a literary work in the form of speech (oral expression). The function of oral literature is not only for artistic purposes but also includes education, such as moral and religious values within society. The author examines one of the Balinese oral literature prose stories, namely The Myth of Pasar Majelangu in Banjar Grenceng, Pemecutan Kaja Village. It tells of a market that opens precisely on the Day of Nyepi and this Pasar Majelangu is not an ordinary market, but a request from the deities residing in the temple. Interestingly, only one family is allowed to sell in this temple. Data collection involved interview and observation methods aided by recording and note-taking techniques, including idiomatic translation. Data analysis employed qualitative methods assisted by descriptive-analytical techniques. Presentation of the data analysis results used informal methods with deductive and inductive techniques. The structure that constructs the text of The Myth of Pasar Majelangu consists of incidents, plot development, characters and characterization, setting, theme, and messages, which are interconnected to form a cohesive literary work. There are also social and unifying functions. Local wisdom values still exist in the community and are upheld by those with strong beliefs. The enduring beliefs within the community are also due to the universal nature of the existing culture, which has become integral to their way of life.
Putu Intan Adelia Ananda Putri, Ni Gusti Ayu Agung Nerawati

https://ojs.uhnsugriwa.ac.id/index.php/DS/article/view/4833

This study explores the revitalization of the Balinese language in the digital era, focusing on the younger generation in Denpasar. As globalization, shifting social norms, and the dominance of Indonesian and foreign languages accelerate, Balinese faces a critical decline in daily use, especially in digital spaces. Using a qualitative method, data were gathered through observations in schools, communities, and social media, as well as document analysis, literature review, and online data exploration. The research reveals that although initiatives like language competitions, local content curricula, and digital educational materials have been introduced, actual usage among youth remains minimal and mostly symbolic.

The findings highlight that revitalization efforts must go beyond formal activities and adapt to the digital habits of today’s youth. Innovative, collaborative strategies involving government institutions, educational bodies, cultural communities, and digital platforms are crucial to make Balinese language vibrant and relevant. Sustainable preservation requires embedding the language naturally into the everyday digital experiences of young people, ensuring its survival and growth in the modern era.
Komang Candra Noviana Dewi

https://ojs.uhnsugriwa.ac.id/index.php/DS/article/view/4838

This study aims to: (1) Explain the intrinsic structure of the Keris Pengantén short story anthology, (2) Explain the psychological analysis of the main characters in the Keris Pengantén short story anthology. The data collection techniques in this study used library techniques, interviews and documentation. Data analysis in this study was collected through data reduction, data analysis, and drawing conclusions. The collected data were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results of this study explain (1) the structure that builds the Keris Pengantén short story anthology, namely events, plot, characters and characterization, setting, theme and moral. The description of the characters is divided into main characters, subordinate characters and additional characters. The settings used are place setting, time setting, social setting. The theme in these four short stories is love. (2) The psychological analysis of literature on the main characters is divided into three, namely id is psychic energy or basic instincts that exist in humans since birth, ego is a psychological aspect related to the real world, and superego is a personality that has evaluative properties and moral teachings. From the explanation above, it can be concluded that the short story anthology Keris Pengantén is built by complete and strong intrinsic elements, especially in the depiction of characters, plot, setting, and consistent themes about love. In addition, through a literary psychology approach, the main character in this short story reflects the dynamics of human personality through the id, ego, and superego. This proves that the short stories in this anthology are not only rich in literature, but also have psychological depth that can provide a greater understanding of human inner conflict.
Ni Kadek Budiastuti, Ni Gusti Ayu Agung Nerawati

https://ojs.uhnsugriwa.ac.id/index.php/DS/article/view/4845

Indonesia is a country rich in ethnic, cultural, linguistic and religious diversity. This diversity is reflected in various forms of traditions and customs that are passed down from generation to generation. With the multicultural diversity in Indonesia, Indonesia can become one of the countries with the most diverse cultural heritage in the world. Each region has its own uniqueness, ranging from customs, dance, traditional music, to religious ceremonies that are passed down from generation to generation. One of the areas rich in customs and traditions, especially in Bali, is the Kintamani Traditional Village. One of the traditions that is still maintained to this day in the Kintamani Traditional Village is the Megoak-goakan tradition. The Megoak-Goakan tradition is a tradition that is carried out in a series with the Village Nyepi celebration. The Megoak-Goakan tradition instills educational values as well as spiritual or religious values. In its implementation, the Megoak-Goakan tradition involves the participation of all residents of the Kintamani Traditional Village in an atmosphere full of togetherness, mutual cooperation, and mutual respect. In practice, this tradition involves various elements of society with different backgrounds, which indirectly forms a learning space about multicultural values. In the midst of increasing challenges of globalization and potential conflicts due to differences, it is important for the world of education to utilize local sources as a medium for multicultural learning. The Megoak-Goakan tradition can be used as one of the contextual and relevant learning sources to instill the values of togetherness, diversity, and tolerance to students. In relation to this, there are 3 formulations of the problem in this paper, namely as follows; (1) How is the implementation of the Megoak-Goakan tradition in the context of the Nyepi Village celebration in the Kintamani Traditional Village?, (2) What values are contained in the Megoak-Goakan tradition?, and (3) How is the utilization of the Megoak-Goakan tradition as a source of multicultural learning in the context of education?. So based on the analysis that has been done, it can be known and concluded that: (1) The implementation of the tradition in the context of the Nyepi celebration of Kintamani Village still maintains its existence until now, (2) The Megoak-Goakan tradition contains various values that can be applied by the community, (3) The Megoak-Goakan tradition can be used as a source of multicultural learning in the context of education.
Ni Luh Rista Dewi
