Abstract

Bhagawad Gita means the Song or word of God Almighty. Gita is a summary of music, a summary of various tones in a beautiful whole. In the Bhagawad Gita there is a philosophy that flows in form, a song, and is an arrangement of sloka-sloka (verses) the most majestic philosophy of life in world literary art. In Mutihan Village, Laweyan District, Surakarta City, precisely in Indraprasta Temple there is Pasraman known as Pasraman Indraprasta. This pasraman was followed by several young people who were still children of the Mutihan region itself, but Hindus in the Solo region also participated in pasraman Indraprasta school activities. In Pasraman Indraprasta there are still many Hindus who are lay against the teachings of the Bhagawad Gita. In this day and age there are still many Hindus in Pasraman Indraprasta who are less lively about religious teachings, especially the reading of the Bhagawad Gita verse. The role of parents in advising and educating children is less successful, because now children are less active in learning the teachings of bhagawad Gita. The younger generation now especially children should be accustomed to reading the Sloka Bhagawad Gita. In this study, researchers discussed how the implementation of Bhagawad Gita teachings in shaping the character of Indraprasta pasraman students, how and how to read the Bhagawad Gita verse, and what benefits for students after the reading of sloka. Bhagawad Gita is known as the pearl of spiritual knowledge. The Bhagawad Gita contains sacred teachings that can explore the emphasises of life. Bhagawad Gita is needed as a life guide to improve our attitudes and morals, because Bhagawad Gita not only teaches about the concept of divinity, artha, dharma, kama, and moksa. Bhagawad Gita also teaches about the guidance of life, humanity, and morality, the existence of indraprasta pasraman, Mutihan Sondakan, Laweyan Subdistrict, Surakarta can change the character of students through habituation to read the Bhagawad Gita sloka. The program is able to realize students to be more religious, disciplined, enthusiastic in learning to master sloka Bhagawad Gita, students are accustomed to getting used to reading the Bhagawad Gita verse then good habits will be formed, because in bhagawad Gita contains values that can change the character of students and improve the spiritual teachings of students from an early age.
