This study aims to analyze the role of forest monitoring in environmental conservation in the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village, Karangasem, Bali, with a focus on sustainable forest management and local community involvement. Forests in the Tenganan Pegringsingan Traditional Village have a very important role, not only as a natural resource for the local community, but also as an ecosystem buffer that supports biodiversity. Effective forest monitoring is needed to prevent forest damage and deforestation, as well as to maintain sustainable forest use. This study uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, direct observation, and literature studies to explore the perspectives of the Tenganan community and the role of government policies in forest management. The results show that the local wisdom of the Tenganan community plays an important role in maintaining forest sustainability, although there are still challenges in integrating traditional values with more modern forest management policies. Therefore, this study also explores solutions that can be applied to improve forest monitoring, both through local wisdom-based approaches and modern technology. It is expected that the results of this study can contribute to the development of more sustainable forest management policies, provide economic and social benefits to the community, and support environmental conservation in Bali as a whole.
